2018 Election Results

Elections were recently held to fill the positions of Federal President and Federal Vice-President of the AMIEU.

In accordance with the provisions of the Fair Work Act 2009, the elections results are now available:

Federal President: CONWAY, Paul

Federal Vice-President: DA SILVA, John

The results can be downloaded here.

The election process was conducted by the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC), and the AEC produced a post-election report. A copy of that report is available from the AMIEU Federal Office, or from the AEC, upon request by any member who was eligible to vote in the election.

The AEC has provided a Post-election Report which identifies a Rule that, in the AEC’s opinion, was difficult to interpret or apply in relation to the conduct of the election. In the Post-election Report, the AEC has highlighted the particular wording said to be difficult to interpret and/or apply.

The relevant extract is available here.

The AMIEU has responded to the AEC, and a copy is available here.
